The Forest Turns Gold: Welcome the Equinox

Autumn in Navarre is not just a season; it’s a spectacle. The last weekend of September marks the Equinox, the precise moment when light shifts and the forest begins its transformation. This Yoga Retreat (September 25–27) invites you to witness this magic firsthand.

Guided by a Psychologist and Yogi with 40 years of practice, we use the energy of autumn to work on “letting go.” Just as trees shed their leaves effortlessly, you will learn to release mental burdens to enter the new season light and renewed.

Why experience autumn in the Irati Forest?

  • The Medieval Refuge: You will stay at Casa Marterena, our 13th-century sanctuary. As the air turns crisp outside, our stone walls and cozy spaces offer the warmth and silence your body craves.
  • The Magic of Irati: We will practice mindful hiking in the Irati Forest. At this time of year, the forest becomes a cathedral of ochre, red, and gold. Walking here is a visual and spiritual therapy that calms deep anxiety.
  • Autumn Yoga: Hatha and Kundalini Yoga practices focused on the Air element and the lungs. We work on deep breathing and opening up to receive the new.
  • Psychology of Release: Practical workshops to identify patterns or worries you no longer need to carry. Learn to close cycles with gratitude and serenity.
  • Surround Sound: Sessions of Gong and Shamanic Drum are especially powerful during this season, helping you vibrate in tune with the earth’s slower, deeper rhythm.
  • Harvest Kitchen: Full-board organic vegetarian cuisine. Enjoy spoon dishes, root vegetables, and seasonal foods from our garden that warm the body and nourish the soul.
